On June 21 Berlin welcomes summer with the Fête de la Musique. This beautiful tradition has been cultivated in the capital for more than 20 years, in its motherland France even for 36 years. At more than 100 locations in Berlin and thousands of places in Europe, the Fête is all about the joy of making music, the great potential of music to bring people together in all their diversity and to celebrate its peaceful, border-crossing and unifying force. “Faites de la Musique!” Make Music!
That is exactly what we want to do together. On 21 June at 19 o’clock, we invite everyone who is on stage or in front of it, who is on a public square, riding the subway or sitting at the hairdresser: Let’s sing together a few songs to prove in Berlin and in Europe that music is capable of overcoming boundaries, creating fellowship and spreading joy.
We want to sing / play / interpret three songs with you that stand for a peaceful vision and for a positive view forward:
Our European neighbors in France, Greece, Italy have already signaled, that they will participate in this mass musical event. So spread the word and the songs!
The European Sing Along is a cooperation of the Fête de la Musique and the European Cultural Heritage Summit.
