The winners of the 2018 EU Prize for Cultural Heritage / Europa Nostra Awards, Europe’s top honour in the field, will be celebrated during a high-profile event in the evening of 22 June at the Berlin Congress Centre. The European Heritage Awards Ceremony is a highlight of the European Cultural Heritage Summit that will be held in Berlin from 18-24 June. It is organised by Europa Nostra and the European Commission and has the support of the Creative Europe programme of the European Union,

The European Heritage Awards Ceremony will be co-hosted by Maestro Plácido Domingo, President of Europa Nostra, and Tibor Navracsics, European Commissioner for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport. The Ceremony will be honoured by the presence of the Federal President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier, in his capacity as the Patron of the European Year of Cultural Heritage in Germany, and top-level representatives from other EU Member States and European Union institutions.

As a contribution to the European Year of Cultural Heritage, the heritage achievements recognised in 2018 have a significant European dimension.

The best restoration projects, the most impressive research, the most dedicated heritage professionals and volunteers, and the finest awareness raising, training and educational programmes will receive Europe’s most prestigious heritage awards from the Juries’ Chairpersons of the four categories.

During the Ceremony, the seven Grand Prix laureates, entitled to receive €10.000 each, and the Public Choice Award winner, chosen from among the 2018 award-winning achievements, will be announced.

The European Heritage Awards Ceremony will be followed by a festive reception at the Berlin Congress Centre.

The Heritage Excellence Fair, during which the winners will present and discuss their achievements, will take place on 21 June at the Allianz Forum in Berlin.

The EU Prize for Cultural Heritage / Europa Nostra Awards is supported by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union.

 

The event will be translated simultaneously (Languages: German – English – French).

Participation fee: 75 Euro (incl. Participation at PROGRAMME/Part 2 of European Policy Debate “Sharing Heritage – Sharing Values“).

Registration is required.


Special security measures apply to this event:

The registration is personal and not transferable. All accompanying persons must register prior to the event.

Security staff will check admission tickets as well as your identity card or passport at the entrance.

Suitcases and oversized bags are not allowed.

You will be asked to put your coats/jackets in the cloakroom.

Doors close at 19.00.
