The documentary “Mies on scene. Barcelona in two acts”, coproduced by Fundació Mies van der Rohe and Nihao Films, highlights several important themes related to cultural heritage through the history of the Barcelona Mies van der Rohe Pavilion, originally built in 1929 and rebuilt in 1986. Visitors, specialists in Mies van der Rohe, the architects involved in the reconstruction and a writer and a philosopher who know well the history of the city and of the Pavilion, explain its lives and the impact that it had and has in the city.
After the screening of the documentary, several guests will discuss on cultural heritage departing from the ideas and opinions that appear in the film. Among the guests there will be people involved in the EU Mies Award, bringing together contemporary architecture as an essential element of cultural heritage.
The screening and the discussion are in English.
